LOVE how it gets the job done and how clean and close it gets. I get razor bumps BAD using an electric shaver but not with this one. A MUST HAVE and great gift idea.

I bought my first Series 9 a year ago and the blue lacquer on the cutting head began to wear off after a month. The cutting head has a plastic chassis unlike the Series 7. Furthermore, the Series 9 marketing data boasts it being much faster and it is not. The cutting heads west out very quickly and were initially impossible to obtain. Once they did arrive they were 3-4 times as expensive as the Series 7. Ineventually took the Series 9 back and got it replaced. After another month the blue lacquer again began to wear off. I took it back again and got a Series 7. Forget the Series 9. It is a step backwards for Braun. While Braun began last November admiring there was a defect, they have done nothing to rectify it and eventually just became uncooperative.
No, I do not recommend this product.
This is a great shaver, but it becomes useless once the foil and cutter fail. It is impossible to find the replacement parts, even from Braun (P&G). Rendering the shaver useless, it is now a paper weight and I have a beard.
I bought one less than a year ago. But the shaver head (Razor) did not last not even 8 months. I am disappointed to see that the replacement foil not available. Every store I contacted saying it is not available.I used to use the Series 7 for a long time, but for the price this product is not worth it.

Braun's website is terrible--where does one find the CORRECT links to order replacement 9000 foil cutters??? So many of the outlet stores (e.g. Target) do not carry/ever have in stock, basic maintenance & replacement parts like the shaver head!This website looks like it was designed by someone in marketing...with next to zero consideration for the customer already sold to help them find basic replacement items efficiently.After reading the many comments about the lousy quality of replacement shaver heads and poor life -- going back years with the same complaint -- I'm wondering if the added expense of the shaver is worth the money.MY EXPERIENCE (9098 w&d): Great shave for about a month...now the shaver head has worn noticeably with the quality of the shave about the same as what I get from my old Norelco (which is some five years old with the SAME shaver head still working fine!).
I purchased this razor a month ago to replace an aging braun razor(a 10-year old? 8985). The only good thing I can say is it eventually works. I don't think it shaves as close as my old one did and as a matter of fact, I have to go over my face a few times with this razor to get all the whiskers. It seems to skip spots so I have to repeat the same strokes. If my old razor still kept a charge, I would take this one back. For the price paid, I expected a lot more.
I used the 700 Series for several years and the 900 Series shaves just a bit closer despite the new technology and additional blades. The 900 Series works best on the checks and under the nose although it takes many strokes to get all the hairs and shaving in multiple directions. However shaving the neck area, which always has stray hairs of different lengths, I find I need to use a manual razor with shave cream to get the stray hairs. The best shave is after one days growth when beard and stray hairs are shortest. For the price I would not recommend this product. (I should say however, that compared to other brands, Braun is the best).
After having this razor for about 8 months the "TRIMMER "door won't stay closed any more. And after contacting themI found out all the HOOPS I would have to go thru to return it an get it fixed and it has a 2 years warranty for what ever that is worth << ZERO >>WHAT A JOKE THE TWO YEAR WARRANTY IS ! ! !
I am totally disillusioned, here I bought a GREAT new shaver system and am not able to find anyone with the refills available... Now I go on line to order a four pack refill and your information is that the product is NOT available . Please give me some answers so I can use your unit properly. .
