I bought my first Series 9 a year ago and the blue lacquer on the cutting head began to wear off after a month. The cutting head has a plastic chassis unlike the Series 7. Furthermore, the Series 9 marketing data boasts it being much faster and it is not. The cutting heads west out very quickly and were initially impossible to obtain. Once they did arrive they were 3-4 times as expensive as the Series 7. Ineventually took the Series 9 back and got it replaced. After another month the blue lacquer again began to wear off. I took it back again and got a Series 7. Forget the Series 9. It is a step backwards for Braun. While Braun began last November admiring there was a defect, they have done nothing to rectify it and eventually just became uncooperative.
No, I do not recommend this product.
LOVE how it gets the job done and how clean and close it gets. I get razor bumps BAD using an electric shaver but not with this one. A MUST HAVE and great gift idea.
Yes, I recommend this product !
After having this razor for about 8 months the "TRIMMER "door won't stay closed any more. And after contacting themI found out all the HOOPS I would have to go thru to return it an get it fixed and it has a 2 years warranty for what ever that is worth << ZERO >>WHAT A JOKE THE TWO YEAR WARRANTY IS ! ! !
I used the 700 Series for several years and the 900 Series shaves just a bit closer despite the new technology and additional blades. The 900 Series works best on the checks and under the nose although it takes many strokes to get all the hairs and shaving in multiple directions. However shaving the neck area, which always has stray hairs of different lengths, I find I need to use a manual razor with shave cream to get the stray hairs. The best shave is after one days growth when beard and stray hairs are shortest. For the price I would not recommend this product. (I should say however, that compared to other brands, Braun is the best).
I owned the Series 7 for about 4 or so years. I loved my Series 7 and I saw that this new shaver was out. It looked rather sleek and it seemed like it would really so quite a fantastic job with shaving (especially with the new parts added to the head), so I purchased it.This shaver comes with some questionable features (or lack thereof). First off, while the Series 7 had "low", "medium", and "high" vibration settings, the Series 9 shaver has none. It's just one constant, non-adjustable setting - it seems like a low-to-medium range in comparison to the Series 7. I could plug the Series 7 in and still use it while it was charging, interestingly enough I can't even do that with the Series 9. The flick-out trimmer in the Series 7 was brilliant and worked quite well in my opinion, the Series 9 has a slide-up trimmer that isn't quite as effective with trimming anywhere (except for sideburns). I'm unsure why this shaver costs $100 more than the Series 7 when it has far less basic functionality.I've used the Series 9 for about 2 weeks now and the shave seems about the same as the Series 7 in my honest opinion. I expected the new parts to massively make it better but it's not really much of a noticeable difference. It's almost worse to shave under my chin with this one though, I used to use the trimmer on the Series 7 to help but the trimmer on this one isn't really all that great. The low-range vibration of the Series 9 almost makes it "feel" non-effective at first, though ultimately it seems to be doing as effective of a job as the Series 7 did on its highest vibration setting (except in "problem" areas like under the chin). I still keep switching both shavers when I shave under my chin, it's almost like my Series 7 does a better job at getting remaining hairs under my chin quicker.I would not recommend this shaver, instead I'd highly recommend to get the Series 7, it has far more features, a better trimmer, and shaves better in "problem" areas in my opinion such as the chin. I've been a fan of Braun for quite some time, but this shaver just didn't quite meet my expectations of being better than my Series 7.
Shave is superb. However, materials used on razor and cleaner seem quite a bit less from what you would expect when spending such a large amount money on an electric razor.I do recommend, but if money is a concern, go the Norelco 9000 series. Much cheaper and darn near as good.
This Product has great features. This Product is exactly what I needed!
I bought one less than a year ago. But the shaver head (Razor) did not last not even 8 months. I am disappointed to see that the replacement foil not available. Every store I contacted saying it is not available.I used to use the Series 7 for a long time, but for the price this product is not worth it.
I've tried all the top of the line shavers including the Panasonic Arc 5, Philips Norelco 9300, and Braun Series 7. The Series 9 is so far the best of them all. Of course everyone's beard is different but I use it to shave my face and head every day or at least every other day and so far the results are better than any shaver I've ever used. The cleaning/charging base is the best of the bunch. It's like having a new shaver every day. The filter catches all the hairs and it lubricates the blades, making them last longer. I ordered a replacement head from Braun's supplier just to compare and see if mine had degraded without my noticing, but it hasn't. Seven months later the original head shaves just as well as day one!
I purchased the 9095 razor 9 months ago (Sept 2015). It performed very well up until yesterday when it began to randomly turn itself on and off while stored in the travel case; also, it appears to go into lock mode and shut off immediately after I attempt to turn it on. I immediately contacted Braun about getting it serviced, they stated they would be required to initiate an investigation into the cause of these issues. This involves mailing the unit back in and waiting weeks or months for completion of their review, all with no guarantee of a replacement.I expressed concern that a lithium-ion powered device behaving erratically like this really needs to be replaced right away rather than having to wait for an investigation to be completed.I expected more from Braun on their top-of-the-line shaving system.
